School and other rants

Okay so today was the first day of class and it was kinda stressful because I am going to have to work pretty hard in both classes I have on Mondays (Int'l Trade & Finance and Marketing Management), but I guess I shouldn't have expected otherwise.
Yesterday I went to a church in town called Calvary Chapel, it's a bilingual church (german-english) which is pretty cool. I met a few people there and they invited me to play soccer with them on Sunday nights. So I play soccer with them and they were pretty good, although i did have a number of good shots. Another thing that was interesting was the field was made of gravelish rock, the same stuff they use for infields in baseball.

One thing that's interesting about Germany is that people obey the pedestrian walk signs religiously. Even if there aren't cars within eyeshot people still don't cross?? Also I am getting used to public transportation, I take the tram pretty much everywhere which is nice, because I don't have to worry about parking or gas.

However, I have been spending quite a bit of money thus far, which has been frustrating. I've had to buy a bunch of stuff I didn't budget for like; a semester tram pass €127, youth hostel €87, and i've been eating out for about half my meals which brings me to my next subject.

I am going grocery shopping later because food is relatively cheap to make. I think this may be the beginning of my cooking days. I will also have to be much more frugal with my everyday spending.

I haven't really got out of Heidelberg yet but I would like to get up to Bonn to see Dan sometime soon and my first vacation will be to Croatia in a couple weeks with some guys from school, I guess it is a tourist hotspot??

I'm hoping that I can make some type of a breakthru with my German family soon, so far I've only been able to chat with them a little bit, maybe I offer to make dinner some night, who knows.

Anyway, if you have questions or want me to talk about something let me know.

Schiller

Okay, so I've met some people at Schiller, not a ton, because there aren't a ton of new students. On the first night we had a new student get together where I met a few more people.
Not much has been happening in the past few days other than registration stuff so there isn't a ton to write about. It's still up in the air if I'm gonna go to Munich on Saturday to meet up with the Bethel group to see Dachau.

Peace
